André Michaelsen

Michaelsen heads the Transactions & Technology department at Arntzen de Besche, as well as our office in Trondheim. He has more than 20 years’ experience as an advisor and has worked on a wide range of transactions, including equity transactions, share issues, venture capital transactions and IPOs, as well as providing day-to-day advice to listed companies. He assists investment firms on questions relating to framework conditions and conduct issues, and has extensive experience of dispute resolution and court advocacy, with the emphasis on company law disputes.

Michaelsen has experience from the Investment Firms Section and the Market Conduct Section at the Financial Supervisory Authority of Norway. Together with his role as representative to the EU’s Market Abuse Expert Group in connection with the implementation of the Market Abuse Directive, this gives him a unique understanding of the regulatory environment.

Michaelsen has been involved in some of the biggest transactions in Central Norway and has worked closely with clients and financial advisors in a wide variety of business sectors. He has been project manager and strategic advisor on a number of transactions and major industrial projects, and his excellent negotiating skills are greatly appreciated by his clients.

Restructuring and insolvency processes are another of Michaelsen's score areas of expertise. Here he leverages his strong analytical skills and commercial understanding to come up with sustainable solutions for those involved. He is also a court-appointed receiver for Trøndelag District Court.

Michaelsen is an experienced public speaker and has lectured on stock market and securities law at the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH) since 2006.
