Baker & McKenzie, the American Chamber of Commerce in Norway and Arntzen de Besche are pleased to invite you to our round table discussion.

This round table discussion will provide an introduction to U.S. antitrust/competition law and intellectual property law, two areas Norwegian companies commonly encounter in connection with selling their products and services or otherwise conducting business in the U.S. We will emphasize pitfalls to avoid and practical solutions to minimize risks.

Key-note Speakers at the round table discussion

Richard M. Franklin will address the antitrust/competition law topics. Mr Franklin is Senior Counsel in Baker & McKenzie’s Chicago office and the immediate past Chair of its North American Litigation Practice Group. Mr Franklin has many years of experience in defending companies in antitrust/competition and other commercial litigation and advising them regarding reducing the risks of doing business in the United States. His practice has focused particularly on representing European companies transacting business in the United States, either directly or through their subsidiaries or other affiliated companies.

Shima S. Roy will address the intellectual property law topics. Ms Roy is a partner in Baker & McKenzie´s Chicago office. She represents clients in both commercial and intellectual property disputes in federal and state courts, arbitration, the International Trade Commission and TTAB.

Round table Moderator

Espen Sandvik, head of the intellectual property department in Arntzen de Besche. Mr Sandvik is an intellectual property specialist with extensive experience assisting Norwegian and international clients in a variety of disputes within intellectual property.
