Granvang is part of the Dispute Resolution and Litigation department.
He works mainly with litigation, arbitration and other forms of dispute resolution for all kinds of commercial enterprises. He has extensive experience as counsel in large and complex disputes, particularly in the field of director’s liability and professional liability. Granvang works only for the defendant in professional liability cases and has represented the auditor in some of the largest cases against auditor in Norway.
Granvang’s experience includes domestic and international arbitration, also as arbitrator. He also played a role in one of Norway’s most comprehensive court-sponsored mediations.
He has since 1990 worked with professional negligence matters and assisted a number of Norway’s largest international accounting firms. He is a member of Lloyds’ panel of lawyers for the Norwegian Institute of Public Accountants’ insurance plan (DnR).
Chambers & Partners’ sources state that Mr. Granvang "is the sort of lawyer you want standing up in court representing your case", that Mr. Granvang has "enormous experience" and additionally that Mr. Granvang "is extremely responsive, works very effectively and knows our business very well. For more than 20 years Mr. Granvang was a lecturer in compensation law and constitutional law at the Law faculty in Oslo. He is also a lecturer in the Master in Accounting programme at the Norwegian School of Economics’ (NHH). He was appointed member of the sub-committee for the new Act pertaining to audit and auditors (Audit act). He is also a co-author to the law commentary to the Audit act that entered into force on 1 January 2021.
