Rune Njøs Jacobsen has extensive experience as legal advisor for Norwegian and foreign insurance companies, other companies and private individuals.
He offers advice on all issues related to damage, liability, work injury, natural disaster, life insurance and other personal insurance, reinsurance, own risk and applicable law. He has been instrumental in developing construction all-risk (CAR) insurance agreements for a number of North Sea installations. Further, he offers advice in connection with working out insurance policy conditions, insurance settlements, design and interpretation of insurance contracts, drafting opinions, litigation and other dispute resolution. He has been a member of the Norwegian Bar Association’s insurance committee.
Njøs Jacobsen has a strong standing as a noted authority on insurance matters in the aviation sector. Through his international network, he is routinely instructed by airlines and insurers in matters related to hull damages, helicopter and aircraft accidents, passenger legal liability and third party legal liability.
As an experienced litigator, Njøs Jacobsen has acted in several court and arbitration cases related to the petroleum sector. Among them, the well-known and perhaps largest ever claim for alleged gross negligence against a licence Operator, the Sleipner B insurance case, and another large case involving one of the most prominent private equity environments in Norway.
