On January 3, 2019, TrønderEnergi announced that it will expand with 1 TWh of new wind power in Trøndelag, Norway. This is divided into four projects: Frøya, Hundhammerfjellet (Vikna), Stokkfjellet (Selbu) and Sørmarkfjellet (Flatanger and Osen). The investment is estimated to be approx NOK 3 billion.
TrønderEnergi has found a partner in Stadtwerke München (SVM), which will help to realize these investments. TrønderEnergi's stake in the wind projects will be 30%, while SWM's stake will be 70%. NTE sells its stake in the projects at Frøya, Sørmarkfjellet and Hundhammerfjellet to SWM, and have entered into an agreement with TrønderEnergi and SWM to purchase power.
SWM and TrønderEnergi also establish a joint operating company that will build, operate and develop these projects further in the future. This company will be named TrønderEnergi Vind where TrønderEnergi will own 51 % and Stadtwerke Munich will own 49 %.
Arntzen de Besche has assisted in connection with the tender competitions for the wind turbine procurements and the other construction contracts, as well as in the negotiations and contract design for the contracts with Vestas Norway AS, as the chosen supplier of the wind turbines, and the other selected main contractors for the new wind farms. Arntzen de Besche’s team has consisted of Erlend L. Solberg, Tor Kristian Lånke, Maria Bergsrønning Tanemsmo and Simen Angell Nicolaysen.
