DCC has completed the purchase of ESSO Norge AS’ retail petrol station network

It was announced 7 February 2017 that DCC Plc has reached an agreement to acquire the retail petrol network for the consideration of NOK 2.43 billion. The transaction was completed 25 October 2017 and is one of the largest transactions in the Norwegian downstream market in recent years.

142 of the 250 petrol stations are directly owned by Esso, while the rest is dealer owned stations. As part of the transaction DCC will enter into long term brand and supply agreements with Esso Norge AS.

On completion of the acquisition, DCC will operate approx. 1,000 retail petrol stations across Europe and supply approx. 2,000 dealer-owned stations.

Arntzen de Besche has assisted DCC in this acquisition.

Arntzen de Besche also assisted Shell in selling their Norwegian downstream business consisting of inter alia 415 gas stations to Smart Fuel AS a couple of years ago.
