New partner at Arntzen de Besche

We are pleased to announce that Ole Kirkvaag was promoted to partner in our Oil, Offshore and Energy Group on 1 July 2015.

Ole Kirkvaag started his career at Arntzen de Besche in 2001. He has specialised in advising oil companies and the Norwegian authorities on oil and energy issues, licensing transactions, acquisitions, sales and mergers, and various legal contract issues related to operations on the Norwegian continental shelf. In addition, he advises clients on international tax law.

Arntzen de Besche is a leading firm in providing assistance to authorities in the petroleum sector related to comprehensive management models and assurance of management tools, developing legislative regulations for the petroleum sector and production sharing agreements, as well as capacity development. We have assisted the authorities in more than 25 countries in this field. Ole has been absolutely central to this work and assists the authorities in a number of developing countries with legislation, structure, inspections, and regulation of the oil and gas sector. He has over two years’ experience working as a resident legal advisor for the authorities in Juba, South Sudan.

He also assists our clients with issues related to mineral and environmental law, wind energy, and legal issues surrounding CO2 capture and storage.

Ole has previously worked as a lawyer at Total Norge AS, an advisor in the Norwegian Ministry of Finance, and as a visiting tax expert at the OECD headquarters in Paris.
